View Full Version : Re: MARS_NWE SERVER Not seeing every files and volumes defined
Maybe one of you can help me. I run Caldera linux 3.2 (I think). It
comes with kernel 2.4.13. I can't get mars_nwe to run. No matter what I
do it says I have to set CONFIG_IPX_INTERN=n but I already did that. Is
there like a trick ot something I'm missing?

I am regret that I cant offer you too much help, bing.
Actually, I am relatively inexperience in network setting. And I am
using RedHat 7.1. although I also want to touch my hands on other
distribution like Debian, and the one youre using : Caldera too.
However, yours problem seems a little unexpected to me. As I have read
from books that the founder of Caldera Linux used to be a leading figure
in Novell, and therefore Caldera should have better capability in terms
of adaptation, integration, emulation with Novell

Sounds like you have misconfigured your IPX network.
It has been a very longtime since I played with it, but might that be
the pointer you need?

I don't know. I just followed the installation hints in the source tar
ball and got it to work.
I don't use any 2.4.x kernels and run mars_nwe under 2.2.19. In the
2.2.19 kernel's .config file there are only three Netware related lines:
CONFIG_IPX=y
# CONFIG_IPX_INTERN is not set
# CONFIG_SPX is not set
I don't know, whether a 2.4.x kernel has more Netware related options.
Just have a look in your 2.4.13 kernel's .config file and see, whether
the above lines are set in the same way.
Good luck.
